This course provides future speech-language pathologists with the foundational knowledge of speech science necessary for clinical practice.
Course Learning Outcomes
At the completion of this course, the student will be able to:
Demonstrate knowledge of fundamental concepts of speech acoustics.
Demonstrate knowledge of clinical and functional assessments and instruments used to measure the acoustic properties of speech.
Demonstrate knowledge of the physiological aspects of the speech mechanism that influence the acoustic properties of voice and phonation.
